I've Got 1000 Subscribers! What Does the Future Hold for the "Rolling Alone" Substack
Exciting times ahead for this little corner of the Internet...
I checked back, and my first post on this Substack was on March 23rd 2025—just under 12 months ago as I write this post
It’s been a wild rollercoaster ride since…
I’ve written 140 posts, and I’m rapidly closing in on 100,000 views on those posts. I’ve had a few missteps and lost a few subscribers here and there, but—hey—it’s all part of the learning process.
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my time here. The Solo TTRPG community is amazing and highly supportive. I can honestly say I haven’t had one negative comment since I arrived here—and that’s probably unique in today’s social media.
So, I want to give a BIG thanks to every single person who has subscribed, followed, commented, liked, or maybe even just read anything on the Rolling Alone Substack over the past eleven months.
When I first started Rolling Alone, I guess I had very little expectation. I didn’t even know if it would be something that would peter out once I’d thrown a few posts into the void. Fortunately, people started to follow and subscribe pretty much from the start, which was super-encouraging.
But I never thought that I’d ever get 1000 subscribers! That seemed like an impossible dream from such humble beginnings, and something that I never, ever take for granted.
What does the future hold?
Well, on one level, it’s going to be “more of the same”. A regular diet of game reviews, observations on the hobby, one-shots, campaigns and whatever attracts my attention in this amazing hobby.
But I have TWO brand new projects in mind that I want to branch out into in the coming weeks and months.
Rather than append them to this post, it’s probably better if I write detailed posts laying out my thoughts over the next few days.
I think you’ll like what you hear 😊
One thing I won’t be doing is putting Rolling Alone behind a paywall. This Substack has always been free and always will be—so you’ll be able to freely read whatever content I push out as we move forward.
So, once again—a big THANK YOU to everyone. My next post will be the first part of the Choir of Flesh “Three Act Play.” and that will be published tomorrow.
Man, it’s a crunchy game, and my head is spinning as I try to fully grasp what the hell is going on with this typically in-depth Alex T masterpiece!
There will be a Weekend One Shot as usual on Sunday, and I’ll also be writing a post about my ideas for the future to help Rolling Alone grow and develop.
Look out for that in a few days time…

Congrats! As Jessen said, well deserved!
Congratulations!
